About
MOMMY is a queer Oklahoma (The Land of Osage, Cherokee and Muscogee [Creek] People) based Artist Collective consisting of Harper Kitchens and Ash Ringgold. As single mothers, motherhood acts as a living altar: every moment becomes ritual, sacred and ordinary woven together encapsulating daily devotion and artistic practice. This collaboration is a love letter to childhood, to motherhood, to the power of pleasure, to the necessity of dreams, to the passing of time and to the urgency of expression. Navigating these concepts they move through many mediums such as poetry, film, installation, performance, sculpture, printmaking, fiber art, painting, collection and curation, among other emergent genres. Their work facilitates communal vulnerability and collaboration providing temporal sanctuaries for radical presence, reflection, pleasure and play.
